Department of Women Resource Development

The Department in its capacity to encourage and enable school dropouts and young women to take up self-employment activities. The Training-cum Production Centre (TCPC) imparts training to this target group in the trades of tailoring, knitting and weaving for a period of 10 months. Since the Department has no hostel facilities for these trainees, therefore, to enable them meet some of their boarding and lodging expenses, a stipend of Rs. 600/- per month per trainee is provided for the duration of the training period. Certificates to enable self-employment are awarded to trainees who have successfully completed their 10-month course.
